My Cousin's Wedding Dress! Part I

My cousin's wedding was a beautiful pink, orange and red affair! She wore two outfits, an orange lengha (below) for the nikkah ceremony and an American style white dress for the reception.

These last two photos are great so you can see the level of detail in her lengha and how she styled it with her hijab!

This shows that you can wear traditional outfits with hijab on and be beautiful!!

Roksanda Ilincic Spring 2012

Classic lines with a bit of whimsy is the best way to describe Roksanda Ilincic's Spring 2012 Collection.

Can I just have this in my closet?? The color is great and I love the volume on the bottom!

Voluminous sleeves are what Roksanda is known for. She has a longer version of this dress but the color pops on this more!

Color blocking has been a trend on the horizon and looks like it may be a bigger trend next spring and fall. This is a beautiful spring look! The ruffle bottom is a nice detail not seen often.

Venice Film Festival

I love it when designers have red carpet worthy and Muslimah friendly clothing in their collection! The Venice Film Festival had several gorgeous, more modest looks:

Marisa Tomei - Marios Schwab Fall 2011
Love the pearl detail, the color, the elegant draping.

Bianca Brandolini - Giambattista Valli Couture
Yes you can wear an all over animal print! The feathered look on the bottom enhances the dress in a different way!

Vivian Hsu - Christian Dior
Love the blend of the ethereal bottom with the structured jacket on top.
Love the color, the big bow at the waist and the decorative shoulders.

Gwyneth Paltrow - Prada
This dress is gorgeous! The drop waist, the color, the big bow on the neck!
Simply lovely details.

Selma Blair - Lanvin
This was my favorite. Simple elegance, my favorite type of look.

Rabia Z Fall 2011 - Dubai Fashion Week

Rabia Z posted this youtube video on her Facebook page of her Autumn/Fall 2011 Collection runway show from Dubai Fashion Week. Loove the looks in this collection! The elegant draping, bold colors, flowy and silky fabrics! So beautiful!

It's so great to see a runway collection that I love and I can ACTUALLY WEAR! Very refreshing.

Islamic Design House Style In!

Islamic Design House (along with several other partners) hosted a jilbab design competition this month. Voting has just ended and they have the top 20 designs on facebook. I actually submitted designs (I'll post them later just for fun); the winners are based on votes. I barely was able to do 3 designs by the deadline! I had a great time designing for the competition though!

Check out the StyleIn  website!
